One-Time Zoom Meeting – 11/03/2025, 19:00–20:00
You are invited to a free online session where we will discuss statistics for research projects and final theses, focusing on how to complete your thesis and publish your paper with ease while avoiding unnecessary frustration. We will talk about what is important to know before choosing a supervisor and a topic for your thesis or research, and what to avoid in the process. The seminar will cover how basic statistical knowledge can open opportunities to participate in numerous publications and make it easier to secure competitive residencies. We will explore how statistics are actually applied in medical research, highlighting the key differences between what is taught in academic courses and what is required in scientific papers. You will learn what to prepare before approaching a statistician for help, understand the three most important statistical tests in medical research, and see practical examples from published papers and theses, including how to perform a statistical test in under ten minutes. The session will conclude with a Q&A panel.
